I like the way you write, it’s funny how I came across this website.. Try typing The World’s Fucked on google and this page comes up. I typed this after checking a few pages talking about interest rate rises. I’m a bit like you, I don’t like to talk about it, nor do I like to think about it. I don’t think you should feel guilt, and maybe you’ve thought to much about it too much. What is it exactly? Skeptics say some bru-ha-ha about the future of our lonely planet. I like saying that, Lonely Planet. The planet is lonely after all. There’s nothing else out there. It’s just us. The earth will probably be fine, we need to worry about its habitability for ourselves, specifically maintaining (i.e. not fucking up) the systems which sustain life such as ours. The earth will probably be fine, most life on the earth may experience some drastic changes but it will not be the first great extinction our planet has experienced, and it will doubtful be the last. In fact many humans will probably be alright, granted they will be the ones living in the industrialized countries which have the resources to better cope with the changing climate, while the less-developed countries suffer for it.

In the end does the universe really care what happens on our planet, does it matter? We are one rock orbiting a star which is not unique, in a small spiral arm of one of billions of galaxies. Our entire planet, species, culture/civilization – is a tiny insignificant spec in the universe. Our sun will, in 4-5 billion years expand and consume our planet, and all life on it (if life still exists on our planet at that time) will die. But the universe will go on for who knows how many billion years regardless of what happens to us on this planet.

But you know why it does matter? Because this is our tiny insignificant spec of a planet. We live here. If we don’t want to try and make it better, then we might as well give up and die, cause no but us cares. I choose to try, even if I suspect such motivation comes pre-programmed into our genes. I will try to make this world better.

What is the worst thing that can happen? What if this was as good as it gets? The stars are the energy bulbs of past ego’s who loved and hated in equal measure – who are we to play down their quest? It is not us and them, or now and then. We are a stream, a beam, a troubled team. A series of individuals pelted down to earth like electric rain, each unaware of the thousands before. Who are we to refuse this ultimate in quirky Christmas gifts? We are handed it, by a world that peers down with dark, strong eyes to see if we like it. Maybe it will fit, maybe it won’t. Perhaps you will be grateful, perhaps you won’t. No, you didn’t ask for it, but you must understand, it had to be given.

Not too bad. I still fit that lil part o’ the drinkers drowning themselves in pity and fear?; not just their own but still.
This world is no longer a happy place I was told to believe in books and school as a child. Then again it is easier to see the turmoil to come maybe, when you are “alone”. So pour me another… I just wish I had the choice to go down fighting rather than to just sit there… idle. We need something to open our minds.. hell screw it.. bring on the aliens or something else “unworldly” .. we need it… it is near time. We don’t really have a purpose anymore if you think about it… no longer is it really survival; no longer is it protecting our country from another… its about money and power.. … so bring on the lil’ green people. We need another thing to kill instead of each other.. its getting boring.
